This Privacy Policy describes how Neutron Engineering, LLC (“Neutron,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards information when you visit oneneutron.com, contact us, request a consultation or assessment, or otherwise engage with our services. By using our website or services, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the site.

01 Scope & Who We Are

Neutron Engineering, LLC is an IT Managed Services and Systems Integration company headquartered at 6750 Alexander Bell Drive, Suite 120, Columbia, Maryland 21046. We are the controller responsible for personal information collected through our website and business operations.

This policy applies to information we collect:

  • Through our website and any associated web forms, portals, or landing pages.
  • When you email, call, or otherwise communicate with us.
  • When you request a consultation, network assessment, capabilities statement, or proposal.
  • In connection with marketing, events, and business-development activities.

It does not govern personal data we process on behalf of our clients while delivering managed and integration services — that data is handled under our service agreements and applicable data processing terms (see Section 8).

02 Information We Collect

Information you provide to us

  • Identity & contact details — name, business name, job title, email address, phone number, and mailing address.
  • Communications — the contents of messages, consultation requests, support inquiries, and any attachments or details you choose to share.
  • Engagement information — details about your organization, infrastructure, and objectives that you provide when requesting an assessment or proposal.

Information collected automatically

  • Device & technical data — IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device identifiers, and language settings.
  • Usage data — pages viewed, referring/exit pages, links clicked, time spent, and other interactions with the site.
  • Cookies & similar technologies — as described in Section 6.
We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information (such as government identifiers, financial account numbers, health data, or precise geolocation) through our website. Please do not submit such information through web forms or email.

03 How We Collect It

We obtain information through three primary channels:

  • Directly from you — when you complete a form, email or call us, or engage our services.
  • Automatically — through cookies, server logs, and analytics technologies as you navigate the site.
  • From third parties — such as analytics providers, business-contact and lead-generation sources, and our technology and referral partners, where permitted by law.

04 How We Use Information

We use personal information for the following purposes:

  • To respond to inquiries and provide consultations, assessments, proposals, and support.
  • To deliver, maintain, and improve our services and website.
  • To operate and secure our systems, prevent fraud, and protect against malicious activity.
  • To send service-related and, where permitted, marketing communications — which you may opt out of at any time.
  • To analyze usage and trends so we can improve performance and user experience.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under applicable law.

05 Legal Bases for Processing

Where the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or similar laws apply, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases:

  • Consent — for example, for certain cookies or marketing communications.
  • Performance of a contract — to respond to requests and provide services you ask for.
  • Legitimate interests — to operate, secure, and improve our business, where not overridden by your rights.
  • Legal obligation — to comply with applicable laws and regulatory requirements.

Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting prior processing.

06 Cookies & Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, remember preferences, and understand how the site is used. The categories we may use include:

  • Strictly necessary — required for the site to function and cannot be switched off.
  • Performance & analytics — help us measure traffic and improve the site.
  • Functional — remember choices you make to personalize your experience.

You can control cookies through your browser settings and, where offered, our cookie controls. Disabling some cookies may affect site functionality. Because there is no common industry standard for “Do Not Track” signals, our site does not currently respond to them; however, we honor recognized opt-out preference signals (such as Global Privacy Control) where required by law.

07 How We Share Information

We share personal information only in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers — vendors who perform services on our behalf (such as hosting, analytics, email, and CRM), bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
  • Technology & referral partners — where necessary to deliver or coordinate a service you request, with appropriate safeguards.
  • Legal & safety — when required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Neutron, our clients, or others.
  • Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.

We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.

08 Client Data We Process on Your Behalf

When delivering managed IT, systems integration, and engineering services, we may act as a processor (or service provider) handling personal data within our clients' environments. In those cases:

  • Our client is the controller and determines the purposes of processing.
  • Our handling of that data is governed by the applicable service agreement and any associated data processing addendum (DPA), not by this website policy.
  • If you are an end user, employee, or customer of one of our clients, please direct privacy requests to that organization, which can coordinate with us as needed.

09 Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, including to satisfy legal, accounting, tax, or reporting requirements. Retention periods are determined by the nature of the information, the purpose for which it was collected, and applicable legal obligations. When information is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymize it.

10 Data Security

Security is core to who we are. We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including access controls, encryption in transit, network monitoring, and a defense-in-depth approach to threat prevention. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and the appropriate authorities as required by law.

11 Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access & portability — to know what we hold and obtain a copy.
  • Correction — to fix inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Deletion — to request that we delete your information, subject to legal exceptions.
  • Opt out — of marketing communications, and of any “sale” or “sharing” / targeted advertising (note: we do not sell or share personal information).
  • Restriction & objection — to limit or object to certain processing.
  • Non-discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
Residents of Maryland may have rights under the Maryland Online Data Privacy Act, and residents of California, Virginia, Colorado, the EU/UK, and other jurisdictions may have rights under their respective laws. To exercise any right, contact us using the details in the footer below. We will verify your request and respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. You may also designate an authorized agent to act on your behalf.

12 International Data Transfers

We are based in the United States, and information we collect may be processed and stored in the U.S. or other countries where we or our service providers operate. These locations may have data-protection laws that differ from those in your country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards — such as Standard Contractual Clauses — for cross-border transfers of personal information.

13 Children's Privacy

Our website and services are intended for businesses and individuals aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under the age defined by applicable local law). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

15 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of our website after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
